New Books! (November 2015)

I have more than 50 unread books in my library here in the Netherlands (I just counted them!)

I have more than 10 books waiting for me in Greece to bring them over and, if I am strict with myself, 4 or 5 that I absolutely want to buy when I go to Greece for vacation.

What do I do?

I order a bunch of other books from Amazon!

But it was such a happy moment when they arrived!

(Note: I have ordered some more second hand from Amazon sellers, the will arrive in the next couple of weeks. I am horrible!)

I will not present these books here, I will do that after I read them.

But I want to say a few things for some of them.

2015-11-10 10.31.22

I had read Pride and Prejudice (translated in Greek) when I was a teenager and I found it very boring.

However, growing up I was always hearing and reading how good it is, that Jane Austen is awesome etc. and I wanted to give it another chance.

Of course there are many people that don’t like Austen, but that made me want to re-read it even more, to see in which group I belong.

I wanted to try it in English this time, but since it is written many years ago, I was afraid that the language would be a little difficult for me. Therefore I could not decide between reading it in English or Greek and time passed.

Then I saw this edition from the “Classics Reimagined” series:

2015-11-10 10.32.05

2015-11-10 10.32.15

2015-11-10 10.32.48

That was it!

I decided to buy it and read it in English.

Wish me luck!

I would also like to thank a greek blog called Over the Place, which has very nice book suggestions.

I ordered these books because of that blog:

I also ordered these books after seeing them on the greek book website of So little sleeping and so much reading:

2015-11-10 10.55.59

I would like to focus on the Peter Pan book a little bit.

I wasn’t particularly interested in reading Peter Pan, but after seeing this edition, I couldn’t resist:

2015-11-10 10.54.55 2015-11-10 10.55.19

2015-11-10 10.55.26

There are many fantastic pages, with drawings, maps and games.

I will let you know more after I read it!

Finally, another interesting edition is this of Haruki Murakami’s Wind/Pinball book.

Half of the book is Pinball

2015-11-10 10.52.24

Then you turn it over AND upside down and it is Wind.

2015-11-10 10.52.43That is all I am going to say so far about my new books.

I hope the 2016 readathon will have categories that can fit most of them!
