After finishing our one month of mandarin lessons in Beijing, it was finally time to travel!
Our first destination was Qingdao. We were there 21 July – 23 July 2010.
Qingdao is kind of an inside joke to us now. My friends still laugh and ask me if I will write about it in my blog. But looking at the photos now, I think we were too strict, it is a nice city. We were probably sad we left Beijing.
Qingdao is kind of close to Beijing, we went there by train.
It is famous because of the beer factory. Tsingtao is one of the most famous asian beers.
It is also the place where we saw someone carrying beer in plastic bags, No, not cans or bottles of beer. Just liquid beer in plastic bags.
Of course we took a tour of the brewery, which was pretty cool.
Qingdao is also famous for its german architecture. It was a under german and japanese occupation until 1949. It looks like one german city, but I can’t remember which one. Maybe you can recognize the similarities and tell me which one it is:
Qingdao is also a seaside town. We visited the pier. There were people collecting seashells, hopefully for fishing and not for eating… The fog was horrible as you can see.

Qindgao is of course famous for its seafood. But I can’t say I would eat something from these photos.
And there is the chinese street market, which is very interesting (for me).
My friends visited another nice part with nice restaurants, but I left earlier to return to Beijing and catch my flight to Lhasa.
